Guests are drawn to this lodge built in an ethnic design, surrounded by a rich landscape, covered in fauna, from huge desert cacti to sweet smelling jasmine flowers, all within the fabled Masai Mara game reserve.&#13;\n&#13;\nLocation&#13;\n240 kms from Nairobi, approximately 5 hours on tarmac and all weather murram road, situated outside the park. Flying is one hour to the nearest airstrip which is 30 minutes drive to the lodge.&#13;\n&#13;\nReception&#13;\nAiry and spacious, it is decorated in with the red coloured walls synonymous with the Masai. An effect of beads painted in bright colours is very prominent. In the centre is a huge table with slabs of stone found in the area. Light fixtures are calabashes arranged in a tasteful manner, hanging from a high thatched roof. The walls are adorned with Masai artifacts, muriel&#8217;s and woven batiks.&#13;\n&#13;\nLobby&#13;\nDown a few steps, the walls hanging with woven batiks, is the lobby, round with a high thatched roof. Right in the centre is a fire place, a bar on one side and comfortable seats all around for lounging. The walls have paintings of animals fond in the region.&#13;\n&#13;\nGlass doors open out to a verandah facing the swimming pool and a beautiful garden, with sweet smelling jasmine plants creeping along the walls, giving a beautiful fragrant in the evenings when the flowers open.&#13;\n&#13;\nAccommodation&#13;\n50 traditional round buildings with thatched roofs, each with 2 rooms.&#13;\n&#13;\nHoneymoon Suite&#13;\nSituated right at the top of the property with an uninterrupted view of the Oloongama hills, this very spacious suite has a king size bed set on a platform. The bathroom has a sunken in bath and shower. A spacious verandah is in the front to watch the sunset or have privately served meals.&#13;\n&#13;\nSuites&#13;\nThere are 12 suites, 6 on either side of the lodge. They have a large living area, private spacious bedrooms with 2 queen size beds with a mosquito net, en suite bathroom with a shower, dressing table, coffee table with comfortable chairs and a mini bar. An ornamental fire place completes the decor of the rooms.&#13;\n&#13;\nStandard Rooms&#13;\nThe rooms with parquet floors and wooden paneled ceilings have 2 double beds with a mosquito net around them, ornamental fire place, en-suite bathroom with a shower, chairs and a coffee table and dressing table. Some walls have framed beautiful beaded necklaces. In the centre is a huge fireplace, decorated&#13;\n&#13;\nBar&#13;\nJumbo bar is located in the lounge.&#13;\n&#13;\nPool bar situated in the pool area.&#13;\n&#13;\nOl Murani bar is located at the bottom of the building, and has a billiard table and television.&#13;\nIt has a viewing deck in front of it and at night the hyenas, jackals and wild dogs come out to feed on food remains.&#13;\n&#13;\nNext to it is an open area which can be used for private functions with a provision for a bon fire right in the center.&#13;\n&#13;\nWeddings at the Lodge&#13;\n&#13;\nThe large green lawns with rock gardens, with different plants and brilliantly coloured flowers are an ideal venue for small and intimate or elaborate weddings.&#13;\n&#13;\nMeetings&#13;\nThe lodge\u2019s meeting and event venue can accommodate 18 to 90 pax.&#13;\n&#13;\nWell located from the main building, the Baraza room can cater for social functions and corporate entertaining. It is well equipped with conference equipment, and glass doors open out to a verandah perfect out door entertaining.&#13;\n&#13;\nWeddings at the Lodge&#13;\nMara Sopa is the ideal setting for small wedding ceremonies. Wedding packages are tailored for intimate events by the honeymoon suite, viewing deck or the rich mature gardens.&#13;\n&#13;\nIncentives&#13;\n&#13;\nBush breakfast&#13;\nBush breakfast with champagne&#13;\nBush lunch&#13;\nBush dinner\/bbq&#13;\nThe venue is approximately 10 km from the lodge in a private area, with huge rocks at the top as a back drop.&#13;\nTents are erected with chairs and tables.&#13;\nThe buffet is set up on one side and the other, a bar.&#13;\nAt night, oil lamps are placed on the rocks and all over the area, a bon fire is lit in the centre, giving a beautiful romantic set up.&#13;\nToilets are set up at the back, covered by manyatta style erections.&#13;\nMock Masai attack can be set up to add on to the atmosphere.&#13;\nCoastal buffet&#13;\nAfrican buffet&#13;\nAfrican night + khanga&#13;\nGala dinner&#13;\nAre arranged within the lodge grounds, and decorated according to the theme.&#13;\n&#13;\nSundowner + bar snacks&#13;\nSundowner + canap\u00e9s&#13;\nSundowner + canap\u00e9s + 45 minutes open bar&#13;\nThe venue is an open area which has a magnificent view of the stunning sunset.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lodge&#13; Located on the slopes of Oloongams Hills, it is one of the first lodges to be built in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.
