SAFARI
The term “safari” originated in Kenya. When early European explorers landed on the coast of Kenya, they embarked on tours into the unknown from there. Their porters called these journeys “safari,” which simply means “journey” in the Swahili language. However, these exploratory tours were different from ordinary journeys. Kenya is considered the birthplace of the safari. Today, the word “safari” symbolizes romance and adventure. For lovers of wild animals and untouched nature, Kenya has always been the ultimate destination. The country is renowned as the home of the African “Big Five” – lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo. Kenya is arguably the best place on the entire continent to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The diversity is simply breathtaking. A safari in Kenya is much more than just watching animals. It offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of wilderness and be captivated by the fascinating nature, animal behavior, and the interrelationships between the various species.
